Waterlees Words Project

The Waterlees Words Project brings together people from the local community in the celebration of reading.

Visits to the library and Ms Aldridge visiting school is one of the developments in this project. Lots of children have registered for libary cards this year. Over the holidays children will be able to come to school and visit either the library bus or the school library to borrow a book and stamp their passport.

At the end of the first year of the project we hosted the Waterlees Words Festival. This celebratory event was very well received with families visiting from across the estate, including those from other schools.
The event saw workshops from top authors such as Steve Smallman, Marion Lindsey and Robert Crowther as well as crafts, a bouncy castle, face painting and lots more.

The event was well attended and we even had visits from the local papers. You can read their articles by clicking the links below.
